Project: Fundamental Research on Microfluidics Technology for Aqueous Two Phase System
 
1. Flow pattern and dispersion rule of ATPS in micro-channel


We established a platform to observe the flow and dispersion rule of Aqueous Two Phase System through sheared T-shaped microchannel and co-axial microchannel. The correlation for prediction of flow type transition was set and well applied in the flow map based on flow rate ration and capillary number of continuous phase.

 

2. Simultaneous two-phase separation for Parallel Laminar Flow


We realized a simultaneous two-phase separation with branching stream of central channel compensating the resistance deviation via the trifurcate outlets with an extra middle channel. A new multiport microchip was designed for PLF phase separation.
